Question 454757: Hi there, my question is
"To prevent turbulences caused by wake vortices, starting aircraft have to maintain a minimum distance of 12.25 miles from airborne aircraft. What is this converted into seconds assuming an average take off speed of 175mph?"
Laymans terms and the relevant algebra would be a huge help!

Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
12.25 miles/175 mph = 0.07 hours
= 0.07*60*60 = 252 seconds
-------------
It's to prevent damage from turbulence, it doesn't prevent turbulence.
