jan 2 hours at 40
bill 5 hours at 20
40*2+20*5
80+100=180
they traveled 180 miles by 4 pm
200-180=20
They are 20 miles apart at 4 pm.
BTW
40x+20x=20
60x=20
x=1/3
They would meet in another 1/3 hr. or 20 minutes.
