When he runs with the sidewalk's motion, he travels 60 feet in 12 seconds. What is the rate of the child on a still sidewalk and what is the rate of the moving sidewalk?
Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
39/13= 3 ft/sec against the sidewalk
60/12= 5 ft/sec with the sidewalk
3+5/2= 4 ft/sec without sidewalk
Sidewalk moves at 5-4= 1 ft/sec..
