Question 450154: A plane travels a distance of 1000 km in 2.5 hours while flying against the wind and in 2 hours while flying with the wind. find the speed of the wind and the speed of the plane in still air.
Answer by rwm(914)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
rate times time =distance
r*t=d
(s-w)*2.5=1000
(s+w)*2=1000
s=450 kph in still air
w=50 kph wind
check
400*2.5=1000
500*2=1000
ok
