The return trip with the wind behind them, only took about 3.5 hours. find the speed of the wind and the speed of the plane in still air

1680/3.5=480
x+c=480
x-c=420

x=450
The planes speed is 450 mph. The wind is 30 mph..

Divide the first equation by 4 and the second by 3.5:
