Tom and Jerry live 180 miles apart from each other. At 8:00am, Tom leaves his house and drives towards Jerry's house at an average speed of 50mph. At 9:00am (one hour later), Jerry leaves his house and drives towards Tom's house at an average speed of 65mph. At what time do they meet each other? How far did each drive?

180-50=130
(50+65)x=130
115x=130
x=130/115=26/23=67.82 mins.
Tom left an hour earlier, so he's been driving for 2 hrs,7.82 mins @50 mph, which equals 106.52 miles. Jerry drove 26/23 hrs @65mph which equals 73.48 miles..
