Question 427404: Jessie and Philip are on opposite side of a road that is 5 miles long. Jessie is walking toward Philip at 4mph and Philip is riding his bike at 6mph toward Jessie. In how many minutes will they meet each other?

Since both Jessie and Philip are approaching each other, we can take their respective speeds and add them together to get an answer.
4mph + 6mph = 10mph
Since the distance between them is 5 miles, we get:
5 miles/10 miles/hour, or 1/2 hour before they meet.
