Question 416966: A car travels for 40miles with an average velocirty of 30mph and then for 30 minutes at an average velocity of 50mph. What is the average velocity of the car for the entire trip?
Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Average velocity is always (total distance)/(total time)
mi / (mi/hr) = hrs (time for 1st trip)
hrs (time for 2nd trip)
mi/hr * hrs = mi (2nd trip)
= average velocity

mi/hr
