One and one-half ounces of a medication are required for a 180-pound adult

Let x represent amount needed for 270lb man.

Question Sets up the Proportion:

     |cross multiplying to solve for x

       x = 1.5*270/180

       x = 2.25oz   |will need .75oz   (2.25-1.5)
