pls culd someone help out with dis: it costs a manufacturer x dollars per
component to make the first 1,000 components.
all subsequent components cost x/3 each.
when x=$1.5. how much will it cost to manufacture 4,000 components
:
Write a formula for cost C(x)
C(x) = 1000x + (4000 - 1000)
C(x) = 1000x + (3000)
:
When x = $1.50
C(x) = 1000(1.50) + (3000)
Find 1/3 of 1.50
C(x) = 1000(1.50) + .50(3000)
C(x) = 1500 + 1500
C(x) = $3000 to make 4000 units
