walk rate = x mph
cycling rate = x+10 mph
walking distance = 8 miles
cycling distance = 28 miles

t= d/r
..
time riding = time walking
8/x=28/(x+10)
cross multiply
8(x+10)=28x
8x+80=28x
28x-8x=80
20x=80
/20
x= 4 walking rate
cycling rate = 4+10 =14 mph
