Question 403552: A mosaic has 600 tiles. There are 80 more square tiles than triangular tiles. How many of each tile are there?
Answer by robertb(5830) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
s + t = 600, and s = t + 80.
==> t + 80 + t = 600 ==> 2t = 520 ==> t = 260, the number of triangular tiles.
==> s = 340, the number of square tiles.
