I am trying to help my daughter with the above question and don't know how to set up the equation. thanks for your help

How many miles per hour is the plane traveling?
:
you can find the mph just using the statement:
"they have flown 1,200 miles in 2 1/2 hours."
(speed = dist/time)
= 480 mph
:
The statement,"The flight will last 10 1/2 hours altogether." could be used
to find the total distance, but you did not ask for that, anyway
10.5 * 480 = 5040 miles
