Let x represent the time it takes together.

solo sue takes 1/3hr and Jerry 2/3hr  (twice as long)

Questions sets up the following. Per hour being the equalizer

  1/(1/3) + 1/(2/3)=1/x 

Mulitplying each term by 1/3*1/2*x so as all demonimators = 1

 (1/2)x + (1/3)x = 1/2*1/3

       5/6 x = 1/6 

          5x = 1

           x = 1/5hr , the time it takes together
