Hi,
start driving at the same time.
Let x represent the time it takes for the two cars to meet
d = r*t
50mph*x + 70mph*x = 300m
120mph*x = 300m
x = 2.5 hr, the time it takes for the two cars to meet
checking our answer
50mph*2.5 + 70mph*2.5 = 125mi + 175mi = 300m
