Question 370176: A train is going to a place B and the velocity is 80 km/h. After half an hour another train leaves for B and its velocity is 100 km/h. the trains arrive in B at the same time. what is the lengh of the route ?
Answer by scott8148(6628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the first train has a 40 km head start (80 kph * .5 h)

the second train closes the distance at 20 kph (100 kph - 80 kph)
___ so it takes 2 h to catch the first train (40 km / 20 kph)

in that 2 hr , the train travels 200 km (100 kph * 2 h) ___ this is the route length
