Question 368837: Two trains leave from stations that are 600 miles apart and travel toward each other. The slow train averages 45 mph, while the fast train averages 55 mph. In how many hours will the trains be passing each other?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Train A speed = 55 mph
Train B speed = 45 mph
..
They are travelling towards each other so the resulting speed = 45+55=100mph.
Distance = 600 miles.
..
t= d/r
t=600/100
t= 6 hours
they will meet after 6 hours
