Question 36099: The energy of an atomic bomb comes from converting the materia in energy according to Einstens formula E=MC2. The constant C is the speed of light aproximately 300,000 meters per second. Find the energy in a mass M of one kilogram (approx. 2 pounds) the energy is expressed in joules units.

In physics the mass is always given in kilograms and the speed in m/s, using the SI.
Therefore you only have to use the data in the Einstein's equation.
E=mc^2
E=(1kg)(3*10^5m/s)^2=9*10^10 kg*m^2/s^2
This an energy of 90,000,000,000 J
