Problem#1
A man started walking along a road 3 mi/hr. Two hours later a woman followed walking at the same direction at the rate of 7 mi/hr. How far from the starting point would the woman overtake the man?

Regards,
JM

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Man = 3 mph
woman = 7 mph
...
woman catches up 7-3 = 4 mph
...
in 2 hours the man would have walked 6 miles
...
time = distance/speed
time =6/4 = 3/2 hours.
...
woman speed = 7 mph
distance = speed * time
distance = 7*3/2= 21/2
= 10.5 miles
