Question 350546: A car traveling at 20 m/s applies the brakes and uniformly comes to rest after covering 50 m. How long does it take? What is the acceleration?
Answer by nyc_function(2741) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
V^2 = v^2 + 2 a s
0^2 = 20^2 + 2 a (50)
a = -4 m/(s^2)
V = v + a t
0 = 20 + (-4)t
t = 5 sec
