Question 347104: if a plane can travel 480mph with the wind and 380 against the wind, what is the plane's speed in still air?
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's the average (480 + 380)/2
= 430 mph
--------------
It's called airspeed, not "speed in still air"
And planes use knots, not mph.
1 knot = 1 nautical mile per hour
