Question 342422: Car A travels from New York to Miami at a speed of 25m/s. Car B travels from New York to Chicago, also at a speed of 25m/s. Are the velocities of the cars equal? Explain.

No, it is not equal.
25 m/s second is the magnitude of the velocity. But velocity is a vector quantity. And we know that for two vector quantity to be equal both magnitude and direction should be equal. Altough these given velocity have same magnitude but different direction. So, these two velocity are not equal.
