.
Let x = faster plane
then
x-70 = slower plane
.
3x + 3(x-70) = 1860
Dividing both sides by 3:
x + (x-70) = 620
2x-70 = 620
2x = 690
x = 345 mph (faster plane)

x-70 = 345-70 = 275 mph
