Question 334787: At 10:100 a.m. two cars leave the same location and travel in opposite directions one car's speed is 50 mi/h, while the other's speed is 55 mi/h. at what time are the cars 273 mi apart?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
since both are travelling in opposite directions
the effective speed = 105 mph.
distance = 273 miles
Time = 273/105
time =2.6 hours
..
0.6 hours = 36 minutes
2 hours 36 minutes
..
they will be 273 miles apart at 12 .36 pm
