Question 332484: Two trains of length 300 meter and 200 meter are running in opposite direction on parallel tracks with the speed of 40 kilometer per hour respectively.The will cross each other at how much seconds?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
length of 1 train = 300 mtrs.
length of other train = 200 mtrs.
..
speed = 40 kmph
since they are travelling in opposite directions the effective speed will be 80 kmph.
1km/hr. = 5/18 mtrs/secnd
80 km/hr = 5/18* 80 = 22.22 mtrs/second
..
The total length of two trains is the distance they have to travel.
= 500 meters.
= 22.5 seconds
