An airplane flies from New Orleans, Louisiana to Atlanta, Georgia, at an average rate of 350 miles per hour. The airplane then returns at an average rate of 250 miles per hour. The total travel time is 3 hours. Find the flying time from New Orleans to Atlanta. Thank you so much.

Let the distance between the two cities be d

You are told the total time is 3 hours
You also know the distance is the same going both ways.
Let the time at 350mph be given by t (in hours)
Then the time at 250 is
Since the distances are the same we know that

hours which is about 75 minutes
