Question 325599: A and B starts running towards each other with speed of 30 m/hr and 20 miles/hr initially they are 500 miles apart when they start.After how many hr will they meet.
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
speed of A = 30 m/hr
speed of B = 20 m/hr.
..
Let them meet at distance x miles from A
so B runs 500-x
Time is the same.
..
Time = Distance / speed
x/30= (500-x) /20
20x=30(500-x)
20x=15000-30x
50x = 15000
x= 300. they will meet 300 miles from where A started.
speed of A = 30 mph
time = 300 / 30
= 10 hours.
They will meet after 10 hours
