On a trip, Debbie spent as much time on the train as she did on the bus. The train averaged 50mph and the bus averaged 35mph. If she went 105 miles more on the train, how far did she go altogether.

Let debbie travel x miles by bus
she travels 105+x miles by train
.
Speed of train = 50 mph
So time she traveled by train = 105+x/50
.
speed of bus = 35 mph
time on bus = x/35
.
x+105/50= x/35
35(x+105)=50x
35x+3675=50x
15x=3675
x=245 miles distance traveled by bus.

245+105=350 miles by train
