Answer by texttutoring(324)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use the formula d=vt, where d=distance, v=speed, and t=time

d=45 miles
t=2/3 hr
v= ?

v=d/t
v=45/(2/3)
v=45*3/2
v=67.5 mph

Now use this rate, with t=2 hours to solve for a new distance:

d=vt
d=(67.5)(2)
d=135 miles

In two hours, John will travel 135 miles.
