Question 307403: A car is traveling 15 mph faster than a train. In the time it takes the train to travel 135 miles the car travels 180 miles. What is the speed of the car?
I have tried this:
135/x = 180/ x + 5
135x + 675 = 180x
675/45 = 45x/45
15 = x
15 + 15 = 30
30 was not correct.
