Question 30269: As the final buzzer signaled the end of the basketball game, the Lions wer 34 points ahead of the Tigers. If the Lions scored 5 points for every 3 scored by the Tigers, then what was the final score?
Answer by Paul(988)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Loin's = x+34
TIgers = x
Equation:

Cross multiply:

3(x+34)=5(x)
3x+102=5x
2x=102
x=51

51+34=85

Hence, Lions had 85 points and the tigers had 51points.
