A motorist driving at 100km/hr can go from wilton to stockton in 2 hours less time than can a train which averages 75 km/hr. How far apart are the towns
Let the distance betwen the two cities be x

The time taken by the train is x/75 hours
The time taken by motorist is x/100 hours
x/75-x/100 = 2
4x-3x /300 =2
x= 600 miles
