where
d is distance
r is rate or speed
t is time

For the car traveling 60km at 30km/h:
time:
d = rt
d/r = t
60/30 = t
2 hrs = t
distance:
60 km
.
Traveling 180km @ 16- km/h:
time:
d = rt
d/r = t
180/16 = t
11.25 hrs = t
distance:
180 km
.

2 + 11.25 = 13.25 hours
b) The average Speed for whole Journey.
Total distance: 60+180=240 km
Average speed:
240/13.25

Don't try to be fancy and lazy with symbols such as @
