Question 254118: What is the average speed of a man who drove x miles in one half-hour? How do you set up the problem?
Answer by palanisamy(496)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A man drove x miles in half an hour.
So the man drove 2x miles in one hour
Therefore the speed of the man = 2x miles/h
OR
If the man drove x miles in 1 1/2 hours,
Then, the distance travelled in 3/2 hours = x miles
So the distance travelled in 1 hour = x/(3/2) miles
Therefore the speed of the man = 2x/3 miles/h
