bird . . . .35 = r
bird . . . 65 = r + c
bird . . . 5 = r -c
substitute r with 35.
65 = 35 + c
c = 30.
check
5 = 35 - 30 [check]
the speed of the wind is 30 mph

There is something wrong with the numbers
He is going slower with the wind than in still air.
and that has to be some strange and strong wind to slow him down to only five mph against the wind
35 miles an hour is the speed of a car on city streets.
that wind has to be at least 30 or more mph to slow it down that much
but why is the more bird going so slow with the wind
the bird should be going 65 with the wind
