Rate x Time = Disance

I'm rather confused with a certain problem:
Ferris and Julia jog around a circular track that is 500 meters long. Julia's rate is 250 meters per minute, while Ferris's rate is only 230 meters per minute. In how many minutes will Julia be a full lap ahead?
Perhaps if you understand the box method, you could show me how to put the information in that format? Or if you think you know an easier way (less computations or hassle) that would be great!
Thank you and have a good Thanksgiving! (It's never too early! :D)
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
:::::::Rate * Time = Distance
Julia::250..*..t...= 250t
Ferris:230..*..t...= 230t

-------
Equation:
Julia distance - Ferris distance = 500 meters
250t - 230t = 500
20t = 500
t = 25 minutes (time Julia will require to have a 500 meter lead on Ferris)
