1.) What is the speed of a bicycle that trvels 100ft. in 50 seconds at a constant speed?
100 ft/50 sec = 2 ft/sec
---------------------
2.)A car moving at a speed of 80 ft/s is stopped with a deceleration of 20ft/s/s. How long does it take to stop the car ?
80/20 = 4 seconds.
------------------
How far does the car go after the brakes are applied ?
Since the acceleration is constant, the average speed for the 4 seconds is 1/2 the initial speed.
4*40 = 160 feet
