Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
D=RT
24=r*3
r=24/3
r=8 mph. upstream.
36=r*3
r=36/3
r=12 mph. downstream.
(12-8)/2=4/2=2 mph. is the current speed,
12-2=10 speed of the boat in still watre.
8+2=10 ditto.
