a) If the tortoise moved at a rate of x feet per minute, at what rate did the hare move?_____________
b)Draw a diagram to represent the problem.
c)Use the information in your diagram to write the equation._____________
d) Solve the equation for x.
e)How far did each one move during the first 4 minutes?
Hare:________
Tortoise:_________
*I know this is a big question, but I really need help on it. The answer I got for part a was 3x, I wasnt sure if that was right or not. But part b and c are the ones that I'm really having trouble with. If I could get those solved I could probably figure out d. And for part e I got Hare=2400ft Tortoise=800feet. I also wasnt sure if I did that correctly or not. Please help if you can! Thanks!*

The hare moved three times as fast as the tortoise of Aesop's Fables.
After 4 minutes, the hare was 2400 feet ahead of the turtle.
a) If the tortoise moved at a rate of x feet per minute, at what rate did the hare move?_____________ 3x ft/min
4*3x - 4x = 2400
x = 300 ft/min (tortoise)
3x = 900 ft/min (hare)
---------------------
b)Draw a diagram to represent the problem.
What problem?
-----------
c)Use the information in your diagram to write the equation. ?? Equation for what?
-----------------
d) Solve the equation for x. x was assigned. It's the speed of the tortoise and it 300 ft/min.
----------------------
e)How far did each one move during the first 4 minutes?
Tortoise - 1200 feet
Hare - 3600 feet
----------------
