then
(s+10) = M's biking speed

The both travel the same distance, write a distance equation D = time * speed
:
L's dist = M's dist
3s = 1(s+10)
3s = s + 10
3s - s = 10
2s = 10
s = 5 mph is L's walking speed

5 + 10 = 15 mph is M's biking speed
