i tried to solve the problem, I want to know if this is right pLease I need your Help::
EQ: x + x + 3 = 15
2x + 3 = 15
2x = 15 - 3
2x/2 = 12/2
x= 6 minutes
Is this right??

--------------------------
Your "x" is time she rode
Your "x+3" is time she walked.

Your work is correct.

YES!!!!! YOU ARE RIGHT ON!!! GOOD WORK!!!
Distance(d) equals Rate(r) times Time(t) or d=rt; r=d/t and t=d/t
Let t=amount of time that she rode
Then t+3=amount of time that she ran
Now we are told that:
Time spent riding + time spent running=15 min, so:
t+t+3=15 subtract 3 from each side
t+t=12
2t=12
t=6 min

Hope this helps---ptaylor
