Question 18083: A cheetah is 300 feet from its prey. It starts to sprint toward its prey at 90 feet per second. At the same time, the prey starts to sprint at 70 feet per second. When will the cheetah catch its prey?
Answer by tennis_math(7)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The cheetah runs 90 feet a sec
prey runs at 70 ft a sec
so, cheetah gains 20 feet a second effectively
prey starts at 300 feet away
300 ft distance, 20 feet a second means
300/20 = amount of seconds it will take
300/20= 15 seconds
