Let t = travel time of the 1st train
then
(t-3) = travel time of the 2nd train

When the 2nd train catches the 1st train, they will have traveled the same distance

Write a distance equation: Dist = speed * time
:
2nd train dist = 1st train dist
100(t-3) = 80t
:
100t - 300 = 80t
:
100t - 80t = +300
:
20t = 300

t = 15 hrs, travel time of the 1st train
