.5(x+50)+.5x=275
.5x+25+.5x=275
x=275-25
x=250 mph.speed of the slower plane to San Diego.
250+50=300 mph. for the faster plane to San Francisco.
proof:
.5*300+.5*250=275
150+125=275
275=275
