: The distance traveled h(in meters) by an object thrown downward after t seconds is given by h=5t^2+Vot
where Vo is the inital downward speed (in meters per second, m/s). If and object is thrown downward with an initial speed of 25 m/s from a height of 250 meters, how long does it take the object to hit the ground?

Answer by vleith(2983) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:
We are given an initial height of 250M and and an initial velocity of 25.
So the question is, how long does it take to go 250 meters?
Setting each factor equal to o yields t = -10 AND t = 5.
Since time can't be negative, the answer must be 5 seconds.
Check you answer.
= 250 which is the total distance to the ground
