The bus left the school for the camp at 6:00AM. Fifteen minutes later, a student arrived in school and tried to chase the bus in their car. If the bus was travelling at 60kph, how fast should the car travel if they wanted to catch up with it in 30 minutes?
-------------------------------------
In 15 minutes, the bus is 15 km ahead. 60 km/hr * 1/4 hour = 15 kms
-----
To gain 15 kms on the bus (to catch up to it) in 1/2 hour, you have to go its speed plus 30 km/hr = 90 km/hr.
