A runner leaves his house at 7:45 for a morning run. If he travels at an average speed of 6 mph and gets back
home at 10:00, how many miles did he run?
please can someone explain to me in depth how to get my answer and where the numbers are coming from. thank you

To find the distance traveled, multiply the rate (which is 6 miles per hour)

by the travel time (which is 2 hours and 15 minutes, or   2 hours).

By multiplying, we get   6 * 2 = 6 * 2.25 = 13.5   miles.             ANSWER

1 hour is not the same as 1 dollar.

It is true that 1 dollar is 100 cents, but 1 hour is not 100 minutes: it is ONLY 60 minutes.

I assume that every elementary school student knows it starting from his (or her) 2-nd grade age.
