Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 hours in morning
5 in the afternoon
speed is x miles/hr in morning and distance therefore is 3x miles
in the afternoon, it is 5*(x+10) or 5x+50 miles
That sum, 8x mi/hr*hr+50mi=450 mi;
x=50 miles/hr for 3 hours (150 miles)
x+10=60 miles per/hour *5 hours or 300 miles
-
50 mi/hr
