Question 1162683: A car traveling at 50 kilometers per hour crosses a bridge over a river 10 minutes before a boat traveling at 40 kilometers per hour passes under the bridge. The river and the bridge are straight and at right angles to each other. -------------
If the 10 meters height of the bridge is to be taken into account, you must specify the shape of the bridge.

The problem is posed in a strange manner.
The post does not provides the width of the river - it can be 100 meters, or 2 kilometres . . .
At the same time the problem specifies the height of the bridge of 10 meters over the river, which is definitely
small magnitude for the problem's goal.
So, the details of the formulation are not in the equilibrium.
But I am just ready to forget about it.
If you want to solve the problem, you need to calculate the lengths of two legs of the right-angled triangle.
Each leg is the traveled distance for certain time.
After calculating the legs, apply the Pythagorean theorem.
All calculations are ELEMENTARY and can be easily done even by the student with stable "B" or "C" scores in Math
without any help from outside.
The height of the bridge makes miserable change/contribution for these calculations.
Boldly go forward.
