How far did the person walking travel during the 30-minute head start? Hint: One-half hour times 3 miles per hour.

How long would it take someone traveling 9 miles per hour to cover the distance calculated in the first question I asked? Hint Time = Distance divided by Rate. 9 miles per hour because she is catching up at the difference of their speeds.

The answer to the second question is a fraction that represents the number of hours needed to catch up. Minutes = Hours X 60.
